Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of crewdeck.gr and the CrewDeck mobile application (the "App"; together, the "Services"), operated by Spyros Chatzigiannis, an individual sole proprietor based in Greece ("CrewDeck", "we", "us"). By accessing the Services, joining the waitlist, or creating an account, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. What CrewDeck Is
CrewDeck is a professional discovery and networking platform that helps maritime crew ("Crew") and individuals or organisations seeking crew ("Finders") discover and contact one another. Unless we expressly say otherwise for a specific service, CrewDeck is a technology platform and is not an employer, recruitment or manning agency, vessel operator, agent, or party to any employment, contractor, placement, charter, or payment agreement between users. We do not guarantee work, candidates, responses, availability, identity, qualifications, legal work status, or the accuracy of user-provided information.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use CrewDeck. By using the App you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is true and accurate.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not:
- Post false, misleading, fraudulent, or impersonating information;
- Post unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or obscene content;
- Harvest, scrape, or bulk-collect other users' data or contact details;
- Use another user's contact details for spam or any purpose other than legitimate hiring/work discussion;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, its backend, or other accounts;
- Interfere with, overload, or attack the service (including denial-of-service or automated abuse);
- Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable maritime, labour, immigration, or tax law.
Users can report content or users and block unwanted interactions using the controls in the App. We may review reports, remove or limit content, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve evidence, or contact authorities where reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, or comply with law.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile information, photos, text). You grant CrewDeck a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content within the App for the purpose of operating the service. You are solely responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to share it.
6. Conduct Between Users & Disclaimer
Any communication, negotiation, engagement, hiring, payment, or working relationship between Crew and Finders is solely between those users. CrewDeck is not responsible for, and disclaims all liability arising from, the conduct of any user, the accuracy of any profile, the outcome of any introduction, or any agreement, dispute, injury, loss, or damage resulting from interactions arranged through the App. You use the App and engage with other users at your own risk. We strongly recommend independently verifying credentials, references, certifications, and identities before entering any working arrangement.
7. Verification Badges
Any "verified" indicator within the App reflects a limited internal check and is not a guarantee of a user's identity, qualifications, certifications, or suitability. Do not rely on it as your sole basis for a hiring decision.
8. Fees
CrewDeck may offer free and paid features. The price, billing period, included features, renewal terms, and any trial will be shown before purchase. Purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's payment terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your Apple ID subscription settings as described on the purchase screen. You can use Restore Purchases where available. Deleting your CrewDeck account does not itself cancel an Apple subscription; you must cancel it separately through Apple.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. disclaimers, liability limits) will survive.
10. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CrewDeck shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, employment, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or your dealings with other users. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CrewDeck from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece. The competent courts of Greece have jurisdiction, except that mandatory consumer law may allow you to rely on the protections of, or bring proceedings in, your country of residence.
15. Apple App Store
If you obtained the iOS app through Apple's App Store, these Terms supplement the Apple Standard End User License Agreement. The agreement is between you and CrewDeck, not Apple. CrewDeck, not Apple, is responsible for the App, its content, maintenance and support, and claims concerning it, except as otherwise required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it against you.
